Mayday Parade

This Music Monday, I picked a band that I’ve seen showcased in one of my favorite tumblr blogs several times Music and Lyrics: Cause What’s Life Without Music? I’ve come to appreciate the lyrics and emotions Mayday Parade creates and evokes effortlessly.

Mayday Parade – The Memory
*Someone help me cause the memory, convinced itself to tear me apart, and it’s gonna succeed before long*

Mayday Parade – Miserable at Best
*And everything I could give, is everything you couldn’t take*

Mayday Parade – I’d Hate to Be You When People Find Out What This Song is About
*Well, I’m thinking of the worst things that I could say to you, but a promise doesn’t mean a thing anymore*

Mayday Parade – You Be The Anchor That Keeps My Feet On The Ground, I’ll Be The Wings That Keep Your Head In The Clouds
my favorite lyrics♥♥
*And I’ll be here by the ocean, just waiting for proof that there are sunsets and silhouette dreams, all my sand castles fall, like the ashes of cigarettes and every wave drags me to sea, I could stand here for hours just to ask God the question, is everyone here make-believe? With a tear in His voice, He said, “Son, that’s the question.” Does this deafening silence mean nothing, to no one but me?*

Happy Listening. Happy Monday!

Words to Live By

After such wonderful feedback from a few Tuesday ago’s “I Owe My Life to The People That I Love” I decided to do another TidBit Tuesday filled with words & pictures. Some lyrics, some quotes, some simple phrases, helping us take a beat – it’s always good to take a moment and just take it all in

Happy Reading, Happy Smiling, Happy Tuesday ♥♥

I owe my life to the people that I love

I’ve decided to name Tuesdays – Tidbit Tuesdays. A place where I can plop all the randomness and a.d.d. thoughts and ideas I have, hopefully in a more organized fashion than they are in my head!

I’m dedicating my first Tidbit Tuesday to the people that I love, with quotes, lyrics and pictures of all the ways people have said and are saying, “Thanks for being in my life”. We don’t say it enough. I don’t say it enough. Thank you, thank you.

*I’ve got more than one membership, to more than one club, and I owe my life to the people that I love.* – Ani Difranco

*Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend.* – Albert Camus

*A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.* – Shakespeare

*Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.* – Dr. Seuss

*Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints on your heart.* – Eleanor Roosevelt

*I’ll lean on you and you lean on me, and we’ll be okay.* – Dave Matthews Band

*Friendship is born at the moment when one person says to another: ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” – C.S. Lewis

*There is nothing like puking with somebody to make you into old friends.* – Sylvia Plath

*When friendships are real, they are not glass threads or frost work, but the solidest things we can know.* – Ralph Waldo Emerson

*The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.* – Bob Marley

*Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think* – A.A. Milne

Website Wednesday – Goodreads.com

May and June have been incredibly social and busy months. One social around the corner is my friend’s and my monthly book club. Although, I admit to often being the delinquent of the group, forgetting to finish my book (oops!)  I still enjoy sitting together drinking some wine and chatting away about the different plot points, characters and overall how we felt about the book.

One website that helps me every month decide which book to recommend is for next month’s book club is Goodreads.com

Goodreads.com  is excellent because it gives a great synopsis of the book as well as reviews from other users. It even sometimes has quizzes and discussion topics to be used for…BOOK CLUBS! My savior!

Be prepared though, Goodreads.com is extensive. You can search through groups of books that people like similar to the one you just read, by author, by category, by topic etc. etc. the options are endless. You can even find your friends and see what they’ve read!

My FAVORITE part of this website, aside from making my book choosing seamless and fun, they have quotes from your favorite books, authors, and songwriters! I’ve already mentioned how much I LOVE quotes, I can spend hours just reading through them. On Goodreads.com, it’s easy to search for the right way to say something, thanks to someone who’s already said it.

Happy Hump Day & Happy Reading!!!

*I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together*  – Marilyn Monroe

Website Wednesday – Good Morning and Good Night

For as long as I can remember, I’d sit and flip through books of quotes, of lyrics, and of inspirational pictures. I am admittedly cheesy and love pictures like below, combining artsy photography and sayings:

So this Website Wednesday I’m featuring a website that is all about cool pictures, tons of quotes, music and videos. Good Morning & Good Night.

Showcasing a plethora of amazing pictures, it’s easy to flip through and want every one for your computer background or even framed on your bedroom wall.

Aside from all the beautiful pictures, Good Morning & Good Night features one of my favorites quotes from one of my favorite books The Perks of Being a Wall Flower, by Stephen Chbosky:

* So, I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we’ll never know most of them. But even if we don’t have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from here. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.* – Stephen Chbosky

Happy Hump Day
